Region's First MRI-Fusion Biopsy Platform Arrives at St. Joe's

Region’s First MRI-Fusion Biopsy System Arrives at St. Joe’s to Support Prostate Cancer Care

St. Joe’s patients will have access to a faster, safer, and more accurate way to diagnose prostate cancer thanks to the recent arrival of the region’s first MRI-Ultrasound (MRI-US) Fusion Biopsy System – a diagnostic imaging device that was entirely funded by our generous donor community.

While MRI-US Biopsy is considered the new standard of care in prostate cancer surveillance and diagnosis, the funding St. Joe’s receives from the government doesn’t cover the cost of the technology. That’s why we’re so thankful to the grateful patients, donors and community groups who rallied to raise more than $320,000 to purchase the new system. Join Us for an UN-FORE-GETTABLE Day of Golf for a Great Cause

On Thursday, Sept. 8, we’re excited to welcome you back to Glendale Golf and Country Club for St. Joe’s 5th annual Golf Tournament. Join us for an un-fore-gettable day of fun, food and friendship on the fairways, while supporting the care St. Joe’s provides to our community.

Over the past four years, the tournament has raised nearly $400,000 to help construct a new Integrated Cardiology Service at our Hospital, and to expand and renew St. Joe’s Emergency Mental Health Service. Funds from this year’s event will fuel robotic surgery innovation at our Hospital, helping our patients to heal faster and go home sooner!

Register your foursome today, or consider becoming an event sponsor!

NHL Alum Jordin Tootoo Scores the Keynote Spot

NHL Alum Jordin Tootoo Scores the Keynote Spot at A Mental Health Morning

On Thursday, Oct. 6, A Mental Health Morning returns featuring keynote speaker Jordin Tootoo – the first Inuk hockey player drafted to the NHL and the author of the best-selling book All The Way: My Life on Ice. While Jordin has achieved what many hockey players only dream of, he also struggled with addiction, and lost his brother Terence to suicide in 2002. That’s when his true calling emerged.

Today, Jordin is an inspiring advocate for mental health, suicide prevention and overcoming addiction, and we look forward to hearing him talk about his life and lessons learned during A Mental Health Morning, presented by ArcelorMittal Dofasco.

Guests are invited to attend the breakfast virtually, or to join us in person at Michelangelo Banquet Centre. Funds raised will support the Mental Health and Addictions Program at St. Joe’s. To purchase tickets, visit our Foundation’s website.
